Globally, 463 million people live with diagnosed diabetes. In order to better understand the social and cultural challenges posed by popular diseases, good interdisciplinary research is needed. Research in the Humanities and the Social Sciences plays a very important role in addressing the social, economic, and environmental societal challenges we face regarding diabetes.
At Uppsala University, an interdisciplinary Diabetes Centre is now taking shape. During the seminar, Tove Fall, Professor at the Department of Medical Sciences and Per-Ola Carlsson, Professor at the Department of Medical Cell Biology will give an overview of the plans for the centre.
Warmly welcome to an informative seminar on this new interdisciplinary initiative at Uppsala University.
Welcome
