Research networks that received support in beginning of 2019
The board of Circus has in Januari 2019 decided to support four new research networks which start in the beginning of January 2019.
Housing as a right
The research network is a response to the need for innovative research on housing issues. “Housing as a right” serves as the network’s broad thematic focus, since this theme illustrates the intersection of legal, social and housing policy issues. We need, to a greater extent, study these aspects together to gain a broader understanding of both the problems and the solutions that exist today. Thus, the network between the Centre for Social Work (CESAR), the Institute for Housing and Urban Research (IBF) and Real estate Research Institute (IFF) brings together previously separated research environments and disciplines.
The network provides a shared meeting arena for several researchers from different faculties, disciplines, and scientific traditions. Here scholars in law, sociology, political science, geography, economics and so on meet to discuss and develop joint research in this area. The long-term goal of the network's activities is to establish joint research in this area.

Ecological Narratives: Bio/Cyber/Semiotic Perspectives
Ecological narratives’ investigates diverse ecologies of signs and how these signs develop into narratives. Building on the interdisciplinary field of biosemiotics, the research network will develop a theoretical framework (cyber/bio/semiotics) that includes signifying and meaning-making practices in nonhuman lifeforms and computational media as well as human practices.

Kulturarv och etik i fred och konflikt
Syftet med forskarnätverket är att bättre förstå vilka faktorer som påverkar planeringen och genomförandet av kulturegendomsskydd, och hur detta i sin tur inverkar på fred och återuppbyggnad efter konflikt. Hur har behovet att skydda kulturarv från skada och förstörelse påverkat planering för icke-fred och återuppbyggnad efter krig?

Nature as Culture: The (Re)production of Common Sense (NaC)
[T]he multidisciplinary network ‘Nature as Culture: The (Re)production of Common Sense’ (NaC) aims to investigate and discuss first, how the concepts of nature and culture figure and are articulated, in various disciplinary contexts and secondly, how these concepts, frequently through being taken as common sense, feature in establishing truth claims within different scientific cultural formations.
